Can anyone tell me what teams did well in last weekend's NFL Draft? How do you think the Bucs and Dolphins did with their respective drafts?
Does anybody have any information on where and what round Kevin Smith went and were any other UCF players selected in the draft?
I thought the Dolphins really botched their #1 overall pick. I know he seems like a safe pick, but I don't think he was the best player in a draft that lacked great talent outside of Darren McFadden. The Bucs picked a good player in Talib, but they really needed a receiver to help Jeff Garcia, and they passed up on talented players like Limas Sweed, Devin Thomas, and DeSean Jackson. Kevin Smith was one of 3 UCF players selected in this year's draft. He was picked by Detroit in the 3rd round. Josh Sitton (Catholic High School), one of Smith's lead blockers was picked up by Green Bay in round 4.
I agree with you about the Dolphins (although, I do think Jake Long will be a very good OT for them for many years). I think McFadden was the best player in the Draft and even if the Dolphins (who do have some good RB's on their roster) did not want him I felt like they could use a QB like Matt Ryan (I am not sold on their current QB John Beck as being their starting QB). But, with that being said they did select a QB (Chad Henne) who might end up being a very good QB in the NFL so maybe they did make the right move.
